Texas Flag Raising on Saturday 4 March 2023

Texas Independence Day

Councillor Jim Davies will be leading a short ceremony at the top of the High Street in Stone on Saturday 4 March 2023 at noon, to commemorate the anniversary of Texas gaining its independence from Mexico on 2 March 1836. 

The focus of the occasion will be the raising of the Flag of the State of Texas, and the Town Mayor, Councillor Jonathan Powell, will be in attendance.

Representatives of the Florence Brass Band will also be in attendance along with representatives of Stone Detachment (Mercian Regiment) Army Cadets and 2352 (Stone) Squadron ATC.

The Town Mayor would be very pleased if you were able to join him at the flagpole at the top of Stone High Street, for this occasion.
