PRESS RELEASE – Classic Car Event
PRESS RELEASE
Classic Car Event
Stone Town Council will again play host to a collection of approximately 60 classic cars on Saturday 23rd September 2023. This free event will take over the High Street and Market Square between 10:00am and 3:00pm. A road closure will be in place for the High Street from 7:00am – 5:00pm on the day so no vehicles other than the classic cars which are part of the event will be able to access the High Street during those times.
Local Resident Peter Cresswell of Stone Classic Car Group has co-ordinated his friends and colleagues bringing their classic cars to Stone. This year’s event will include three special displays to mark 100 years of MG, 70 years of Triumph Sports Cars and 60 years of the Mini Cooper S.
Councillor Jill Hood, Chairman of the Council’s Tourism and Town Promotion Sub-Committee said
“The Town Council is pleased to be able to bring a Classic Car event to Stone High Street once again. With a wide range of vehicles dating from the 1930s to the 1980s, plus some exotic modern cars, there is sure to be something for everyone. It has been a pleasure to work alongside Peter to bring this event to fruition.”
