Texas Flag Raising on Saturday 2 March 2024

Texas Independence Day

The Town Mayor, Councillor Jim Davies, will be leading a short ceremony at the top of the High Street in Stone on Saturday 2 March 2024 at noon, to commemorate the anniversary of Texas gaining its independence from Mexico on 2 March 1836. The focus of the occasion will be the raising of the Flag of the State of Texas.

Representatives of the Florence Brass Band will be in attendance and representatives of Stone Detachment (Mercian Regiment) Army Cadets and 2352 (Stone) Squadron ATC have been invited.

The Town Mayor would be very pleased if you were able to join him at the flagpole for this occasion.
