Texas Flag Raising on Saturday 1 March 2025

Texas Independence Day

Town Councillor, Councillor Jim Davies, will be leading a short ceremony at the top of the High Street in Stone on Saturday 1 March 2025 at noon, to commemorate the anniversary of Texas gaining its independence from Mexico on 2 March 1836. The focus of the occasion will be the raising of the Flag of the State of Texas.

The Town Mayor, Councillor Philip Leason MBE JP, will also be in attendance along with Florence Brass Band, Stone Choral Society, Stone Detachment (Mercian Regiment) Army Cadets, 2352 (Stone) Squadron ATC and other representatives of local groups.

Councillor Leason and Councillor Davies would be very pleased if you were able to join them at the flagpole for this occasion.
