Christmas Lights Switch-On
Stone Town Council has reluctantly decided not to hold a Christmas Lights Switch-On this year. We are naturally very disappointed not to be able to hold this very popular event in the town but must consider our residents and visitors safety.
This does not mean we will not have Christmas lights as they will be operating over the normal Christmas period, and will include some exciting new displays.
Councillor Jill Hood, Chairman of the Council’s Tourism and Town Promotion Sub-Committee said: “I am saddened that due to the current situation we have been forced to cancel the actual switch on as it’s an event that everyone enjoys. We have spoken to Father Christmas and he has promised to come to Stone for the “virtual” switch-on of the lights, which residents will be able to view remotely. Details to follow”.
