Remembrance Sunday in Stone on 10 November 2024
The Annual Parade, together with Services of Remembrance at the War Memorial in Granville Square and later at the Parish Church of St. Michael and St. Wulfad, will take place on Sunday 10th November.
The arrangements are as follows: –
10.15 a.m. Parade Personnel to assemble at the bottom of the High Street.
10.35 a.m. Parade to proceed along High Street to the War Memorial.
10.45 a.m. Presentation of Wreaths in accordance with the formal Order of Presentation. Persons laying wreaths (including any not on the Order of Presentation) should kindly report to Mr I Prescott, the Parade Marshal, during the parade assembly in the High Street, to be briefed on the wreath laying ceremony.
11.00 a.m. Two Minutes Silence and Service of Remembrance.
All those laying wreaths will be asked to walk together in the parade or asked to assemble together prior to the parade reaching the top of the High Street and asked to stand near to the War Memorial in order to streamline the laying of the wreaths.
At the conclusion of the Service at the War Memorial, the Parade will reform and proceed to the Parish Church of St. Michael and St. Wulfad led by Stone Scout and Guide Band. After the Church Service the parade will disband and not proceed to the Market Square on this occasion.
Earlier the customary Service of Remembrance will be held at the Walton War Memorial, Whitemill Lane, Walton, commencing at 9.50 a.m. and individuals and organisations are cordially invited to participate. Persons attending should kindly assemble at the War Memorial by 9.40 a.m.
