Stone Christmas Lights Switch-On 2019
21st November 2019 will again see Stone Town Council organising and staging the annual switch-on
of the town’s Christmas lights.
The event, which opens at 5:00pm, will be compered by Samantha Lloyd, with the Snow Queen
making an appearance at 5:30pm. A festive feel will be brought to the event at 6:00pm, when the
Stone Combined Schools Choir perform a collection of Christmas favourites. At 6:30pm, compere
Samantha Lloyd will switch to a musical role and give a performance to take the evening up to the
main event – the turning on of the lights at 7:00pm. The lights will be switched on by the winners of
the Town Council’s Christmas Card design competition for schools, supported by the Town Mayor
and, of course, Father Christmas.
Warwicks Funfair will be set up in the Market Square and down the High Street, a number of town
centre shops will be opening, and there will be food stalls, trade stalls, and charity stalls with all
manner of things to buy and win.
Councillor Jill Hood said “I am pleased to be able to invite everyone to this fantastic evening of
entertainment and fun, with appearances by the Snow Queen and Santa as part of this celebration
of the start of the Christmas season.”
